UNM Golf Course
Opened in 1967, The UNM Golf Course has been one of the finest facilities of its kind nationwide. Nationally recognized by Golf Digest as one of the top 25 public courses in the country, in 1991 Golfweek Magazine dubbed the course the number one course to play in New Mexico and in 1998 Golfweek rated the course number 2 in the West.The UNM Golf Course has also been the home for many major tournaments including the 1950, 1976 and 1992 NCAA Division I Men's Golf Championships; the 1998 NCAA Championships and the 1987 Women's NCAA tournament.
The UNM Golf Course offers a 7,248 yard, Par 72 course boasting fairways both long and wide, up and down, right and left, that makes it hard to reach the rolling, well-manicured greens. The paradise like climate of Albuquerque make the UNM Golf Course a perfect oasis for golfers in January or June. The newest feature of the UNM Golf Course is the recently opened private practice facility. This facility is complete with 40 yard wide fairways, almost 25,000 square feet of greens, and the ability to simulate every condition.
