Los Altos, the oldest of the four city-owned courses, opened in May, 1960. Designed for relatively fast play, foursomes can play an 18-hole round in three and one half hours. With 6,180 yards from the men's tees, at Par 71, and 5,895 yards from the women's tees, at Par 74, beginners and intermediate golfers find this course ideal. Although the terrain seems flat, the Los Altos course layout features two large lakes, numerous mature trees, and large sand traps.
